02-24-2022: 3DGence released the INDUSTRY F421
A high-performance FFF 3D printer designed for working with PEEK, PEKK, and ULTEM
On February 24, 2022, 3DGence – a Polish manufacturer of industrial 3D printers – announced the launch of the INDUSTRY F421. This FDM/FFF 3D printer was equipped with two print heads and primarily utilized high-performance, high-temperature materials such as PEEK, PEKK, and ULTEM. Alongside the new 3D printer model, 3DGence also introduced a new material management system and the PEEK Aero filament, certified with AS9100.
The INDUSTRY F421 was the successor to the company’s flagship model, the INDUSTRY F420. The printer's build volume measured 380 x 380 x 420 mm, with a maximum printing speed of 400 mm/s and idle movement speeds of up to 1 m/s. The maximum nozzle temperature reached 500°C, while the enclosed build chamber could achieve 180°C—critical for processing materials like PEEK and ULTEM. The print head was also designed to handle composite materials, including those reinforced with carbon fiber.
The 3D printer featured a new material management system that enabled filament storage under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Another functionality of the INDUSTRY F421 was its emission control system, capable of filtering macro-dust, nano-dust (VOC and UFP), solvent vapors, harmful gases, and other foreign particles.
3DGence also introduced a new PEEK Aero filament—a high-strength polymer combining heat and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for end-use aerospace applications. It was certified with AS9100.
3DGence was founded in 2014 as one of many manufacturers of desktop-grade FFF 3D printers. The debut model, 3DGence One, stood out from the competition with its high-quality build, including a ceramic print bed and one of the first print head compensation systems. Subsequent models, Double and Medical, expanded upon the original design with additional functionalities.
Originally, the company emerged from the Silesian University of Technology. However, a breakthrough moment in its history was an investment in 2016 by Michał Sołowow—one of the wealthiest Poles and Europeans. At the same time, 3DGence introduced its first industrial-grade 3D printer, the INDUSTRY, and eventually shifted entirely away from desktop 3D printers.
Today, the company is the only Polish firm with a branch in the USA and remains one of the most recognizable Polish brands worldwide.
