02-28-2023: 3dpbm (3D Printing Business Media) rebranded as VoxelMatters
The media company behind the 3D Printing Media Network portal
On February 28, 2023, 3dpbm – the media company behind the 3D Printing Media Network portal, the AM company database 3D Printing Business Directory, as well as a publishing house and market research firm – announced a rebranding to VoxelMatters. This change aimed to simplify and unify communication across all brands, which have since operated under the collective name VoxelMatters.
3dpbm was founded in 2015, originally as an extension of the Italian blog IL REPLICATORE, which dates back to September 2013. Both were established by Davide Sher, one of the most well-known AM journalists, who had previously collaborated with most of the leading 3D printing media outlets. Sher founded 3dpbm together with Federico Sher and Francesco Pulimeni.
The company initially focused on publishing press releases on 3D Printing Media Network and creating AM company profiles on 3D Printing Business Directory. Over time, its activities expanded to include market reports, which became one of its key business areas.
Over the years, 3dpbm gained popularity, becoming one of the leading media outlets on additive manufacturing worldwide. However, as Davide Sher himself admitted in a press release about the rebranding, the company's name and portal were not ideal. The long and difficult-to-pronounce letter combination was replaced by VoxelMatters.
The company underwent a complete visual identity transformation, with all websites redesigned, including the main portal itself.
