03-22-2018: Massivit 3D introduced the 1500 3D printer
A slightly smaller version of their large-format 3D printers
On March 22, 2018, during the ISA Sign Expo in Orlando, Florida, the Israeli company Massivit presented the Massivit 1500 — a large-format 3D printer utilizing their proprietary Gel Dispensing Printing (GDP) technology. This trade show was the world's largest gathering of professionals from the advertising and graphic industries, and Massivit's machines proved highly effective in these fields. The company's 3D printers enabled the creation of large and relatively lightweight applications that could be used as exhibition elements, illuminated signs, props, or thermoforming molds.
Massivit 3D is an Israeli company founded in 2013 that specializes in large-format 3D printing technologies. The company became well-known for its flagship printer, the Massivit 1800, which gained recognition in the advertising and event industries due to its ability to quickly print very large objects. From the beginning, Massivit 3D focused on providing solutions for the visual industry, offering 3D printers that allowed for the creation of personalized, engaging, and impressive projects.
The company developed Gel Dispensing Printing (GDP) technology — a patented process that uses an acrylic photopolymer gel, which cures instantly under UV light. This solution allows for the rapid printing of very large objects.
Although the Massivit 1500 showcased at the trade show offered impressive 3D printing capabilities — 1450 x 1170 x 1470 mm (57 x 46 x 58 inches) — it was designed as a smaller version of the flagship Massivit 1800 model. It offered a printing speed of 250 mm/s, with the ability to print 30 cm on the Z-axis per hour. The printer used the company's proprietary material, Dimengel 100.
The Massivit 1500 was designed with smaller 3D printing businesses in mind, those with limited space but a desire to use 3D printing technology to create large objects. It is more affordable than its larger counterpart, the Massivit 1800, making it attractive to companies seeking a large-format printing solution. The Massivit 1500 cost around €250,000, which was €100,000 cheaper than the Massivit 1800.
