05-04-2015: Technology Applied – the largest polish AM service provider was born
Based in Białystok, the company operates a machine park primarily built around EOS SLS and HP MJF systems
On May 4, 2015, Jarosław Kozak founded Technology Applied – the largest Polish AM service provider. Based in Białystok, the company operates a machine park primarily built around EOS SLS and HP MJF systems, one of the most advanced post-processing systems from DyeMansion, as well as its own painting workshop for finished prints and extensive post-processing facilities. For years, the company has also partnered with 3YOURMIND for AM production management software.
Before founding Technology Applied, Kozak co-founded Rapid Crafting – a company established in 2012 together with Michał Wojnarski (now Centrum Druku 3D) and Rafał Grabowski (now UV Polimer and UV Cast). It was one of the first AM service providers in Warsaw, using CJP and FFF technologies in its operations. At the end of 2014, Kozak left Rapid Crafting and moved to Białystok, where he launched Technology Applied.
From the very beginning, the company specialized in SLS technology, quickly becoming a leading player in this field (at that time, most service providers in Poland based their offerings solely on desktop-grade FFF or SLA). One of the key foundations of its success was cooperation with other service companies for which Technology Applied provided SLS 3D printing services in a subcontracting model. As a result, for a time, the vast majority of companies offering SLS services in Poland were, in fact, outsourcing their production to Technology Applied.
This was followed by further developments – collaborations with large manufacturing companies, continued investment in SLS and SLA systems (e.g., DWS Systems), but above all, sophisticated post-processing. Technology Applied was one of the first service providers to use DyeMansion systems, which significantly enhanced the quality of their offering.
Equally important was the automation of quoting and ordering processes, enabled through the collaboration with 3YOURMIND.
Together with Grupa Azoty, the company is also a co-organizer of the AM conference series "Małopolskie Dni Druku 3D," held each fall in Tarnów, Poland.
Finally – a brief clarification. Technically, the largest AM service company in Poland is the Polish branch of the Belgian company Materialise (located in Bielany Wrocławskie). However, as part of a large corporation, the Polish branch handles orders from around the world, functioning more as a manufacturing facility than an independent entity. As a result, Polish orders make up only a small percentage of Materialise’s total order volume. Thus, when referring to Technology Applied as the largest company, we are emphasizing both Polish ownership and operational independence.
Run from failure. Point new direction. Set indicators. Succeed.
3D printing services are theoretically one of the easiest things you can do in the broad field of manufacturing. All you have to do is buy a 3D printer — with today’s prices, you can buy even five right away! — get some 3D printing materials, and voila! Start taking orders!
