05-18-2020: Grupa Azoty presented Tarfuse AM – a line of antibacterial filaments

On May 18, 2020 Grupa Azoty – the biggest polish chemical company and one of the biggest polymer manufacturers in Europe, presented the Tarfuse AM line of antibacterial filaments, which included a number of materials distinguished by a different base material: PLA, PA and ABS.
At the beginning of March 2020, Grupa Azoty S.A announced its entry into the 3D printing industry, presenting its original line of 3D printing materials used in FDM / FFF technology.
In its wide offer, apart from basic and technical filaments, the manufacturer also introduced antibacterial materials based on PLA, ABS and PA - polyamide PA6 reinforced with glass fiber, as well as flame retardant and antistatic.
The materials met all necessary safety standards. The antibacterial additives used in Tarfuse AM filaments were approved for marketing in the European Union and compliant with the European Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) 528/2012 and are compliant with the requirements of the US Environmental Protection Agency - Antimicrobial Division of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The antibacterial additives used are included in the list of chemical compounds approved by OEKO-TEX, and additionally, they are approved by the FDA - US Food & Drug Agency and the approval of the Antimicrobial Division of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
