05-20-2009: EOS sold its first EOSINT P 800 High-Temperature Peek Processing System
The client was FKM
On May 20, 2009 EOS – the leader in metal and polymers industrial 3D printing, announced the sale of the first high-temperature 3D printing system with PEEK – EOSINT P800. The client was FKM, one of EOS' e-Manufacturing partners. At that time, it was the 14th EOS 3D printer installed in this company.
The system was based on the EOSINT P 730 model and was built with completely changed modules that meet the requirements of high-temperature processing. PEEK and other high-performance polymers are laser sintered at operating temperatures up to 385°C, which allows the construction of parts with very good performance parameters.
EOSINT P800 was additionally equipped with the Online Laser Power Control (OLPC) function, which monitored the laser power during construction.
The 3D printer was compatible with EOS PEEK HP3 - a high-quality material from the polyarylether ketone family. It had exceptional tribological, mechanical, physical and chemical properties, and also met the US UL94-V0 flammability standard. It was also biocompatible and sterilizable.
Unfortunately, the EOS P800 was not developed further and the system is now been discontinued by EOS.
