06-14-2022: Velo3D launched large-format metal 3D printer – Sapphire XC 1MZ
Velo3D debuted on the market in 2018, presenting its debut 3D printer – Sapphire
On June 14, 2022, Velo3D launched the new Sapphire XC 1MZ metal 3D printer – its largest platform in terms of scale and 3D printing capabilities. The new machine had a build volume twice that of the Sapphire XC system, introduced in October 2020, and nine times that of the standard Sapphire platform with which the company debuted.
The Sapphire XC 1MZ combined the large diameter of the Sapphire XC with the meter-high build height of the Sapphire 1MZ, offering a total build area of 600 x 1000 mm.
The 3D printer was equipped with eight 1 kW lasers and a faster non-contact recoater, which allowed for an increase in work efficiency by up to 400% compared to the Sapphire and Sapphire 1MZ models.
Velo3D debuted on the market in 2018, presenting its debut 3D printer – Sapphire. Since then, the company has introduced three subsequent versions of this platform, each time increasing the building volume.
