07-26-2022: Snapmaker unveiled Artisan - a new generation of "3-in-1" 3D printers
The device was equipped with three manufacturing tools: a dual extruder, a laser head and a CNC head
On July 26, 2022, the Chinese manufacturer Snapmaker announced the launch of the latest generation of their "3-in-1" 3D printer, called Artisan. The device was equipped with three manufacturing tools: a dual extruder for 3D printing with filaments, a laser head for engraving, and a CNC head for machining. The working area of the Artisan was as large as 40 x 40 x 40 cm!
Founded in 2016, Snapmaker has specialized in producing desktop 3-in-1 3D printers, integrating 3D printing, laser engraving and cutting, and CNC milling. In 2019, the company set a record on Kickstarter, raising $7,850,866 for the Snapmaker 2.0 model. It also won the CES Innovation Award 2020 and the iF Design Award 2022.
Compared to the Snapmaker 2.0, the new Artisan offered: a next-generation linear module for faster operation, easy toolhead module exchange, 3D printing with a dual extruder at 300°C, automatic bed leveling and Z-axis offset calibration for both extruders, 10W laser engraving and cutting, and CNC machining with up to 200W power (+300% more power and +50% higher maximum spindle speed compared to the previous model).
