The next edition of the Formnext Awards – one of the most prestigious competitions in the additive manufacturing industry – is now underway. Submissions are officially open.
This year’s awards will be presented in six categories, aiming to recognize breakthrough technologies, sustainable business models, innovative projects, and emerging talents.
A refreshed panel of judges has been appointed for this edition, bringing new perspectives and additional expertise to the evaluation process.
The 2025 awards will be granted in the following categories:
AMbassador Award – presented to individuals or organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the promotion of additive manufacturing through education, training, or personal engagement.
The jury includes representatives from MIT, Daimler Truck, Hybrid Manufacturing Technologies, and VDMA Additive Manufacturing.
Design Award – honoring outstanding designs and products created using additive technologies, with a focus on aesthetics and functionality.
The jury will consist of renowned designers and experts from technical universities and the FashionTech sector.
(R)Evolution Award – for revolutionary products, technologies, or services that provide users with a clearly differentiated added value.
The judging panel includes representatives from Boeing, BMW, and the University of Bristol.
Rookie Award – for individuals who are just beginning their journey in the AM industry and have either not yet founded a company or have done so within the past 12 months.
Start-up Award – for young companies demonstrating innovation and promising business models.
These two categories will be evaluated by a panel of experts from organizations such as AM Ventures, TU Munich, and Kickstarter.
Sustainability Award – presented to projects and products evaluated across their full life cycle, with a strong focus on sustainability.
The jury includes representatives from academic and industry bodies, such as FH Aachen and AMGTA.
The winners will be announced during the official awards ceremony held on November 20, 2025, during the Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt. In addition to the prestigious trophy, winners will receive monetary prizes or rewards such as individual mentoring sessions.
