Atomic Layer of the Day:
Bambu Lab announced today that the launch of the highly anticipated next-generation 3D printer - the successor to the flagship X1 and P1 series (A1 doesn't count), has been postponed to the first quarter of 2025. The reason cited is the company's commitment to ensuring the highest possible quality, which their products have consistently delivered.
Therefore, the announcement made by the company's co-founder Huaiyu Liu regarding the new machine's launch in the fall is officially no longer valid.
The new Bambu Lab 3D printer is expected to have a larger build area (supposedly over 30 cm in the XYZ axes) and be aimed at the industrial sector (which already uses existing 3D printers on a large scale).
The truth is that while this news may be disappointing, the embarrassing false start with the first batch of the A1 model, where there was a faulty power cable for the build plate, suggests that a longer wait might ultimately be for the best.
It's also possible—but this is just my conspiracy theory—that the delay in the launch is related to the ongoing patent dispute with Stratasys. Recently, there was a significant development in this case—TierTime was withdrawn from the lawsuit (which no one understood why they were involved in the first place?) at the request of Stratasys itself.
This case is still evolving, so perhaps Bambu Lab prefers to hold off on launching the next-generation machine until the dispute is at least more defined (i.e., the parties decide whether they want to negotiate, go to war, or pursue some another course of action).

10-09-2012: 3D Systems acquired Rapidform.
Atomic News & Gossips:
UltiMaker announced that it achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certified by BSI Group. Although it doesn't help much in competing with Bambu Lab or Prusa Research in terms of sales, I sincerely congratulate the comapny on this significant achievement.
Supernova - a company originating from BCN3D, announced an “exclusive unveiling of ProductionPlatform that’s set to transform short and mid-scale manufacturing with industry-grade materials.” The event will take place in mid-November, so Supernova will surely remind us of it more than once.
