05-16-2018: Sinterit presented LISA 2 - a new generation desktop SLS 3D printer
It was one of the few cost-effective SLS solutions on the market
On May 16, 2018, Sinterit announced the launch of the Lisa 2 3D printer, marking a significant advancement in SLS technology within the desktop 3D printing segment. Recognized as a pioneer in affordable SLS solutions, Sinterit introduced a device that offered numerous improvements over its predecessor, the Lisa 1.
The new version featured an enlarged build chamber measuring 150 x 200 x 260 mm, enabling the printing of larger objects, and incorporated a nitrogen chamber, which significantly expanded the range of compatible materials. Additionally, the Lisa 2 was redesigned from the ground up, incorporating modern technical and ergonomic solutions.
Although the device's price of €11,900 was more than double that of the first-generation model, it remained one of the few cost-effective SLS solutions on the market, targeting small businesses, research institutions, and professional users.
Sinterit made its debut in 2014 with the world's first desktop SLS printer—the Lisa 1. While its build volume was relatively small, its highly competitive price of €4,900 marked a breakthrough in additive manufacturing. This made SLS technology, previously reserved for large industrial enterprises, accessible to a broader audience.
In the following years, the company consistently developed its products, showcasing them at numerous 3D printing trade shows and events worldwide. The launch of the Lisa 2 solidified Sinterit's position as a leader in compact SLS printers, delivering high print quality while maintaining relatively low operational costs. The printer gained recognition for its versatility and ability to work with various materials, including polyamides and elastomers, opening new possibilities in prototyping and small-batch production.
