SPEE3D Announces Financial Partnership with 1941
The funding will help SPEE3D expand its global operations
SPEE3D, an Australian manufacturer of metal 3D printers, has announced a financial partnership with 1941, an Australian investment fund in the security sector. The company aims to expand its global operations in the field of delivering dual-use military technologies.
The financial agreement connects SPEE3D with former Australian Ambassador to the US, Joe Hockey, and 1941—his dual-use investment fund, co-owned by Bondi Partners and Ellerston Capital.
Under the agreement, 1941 will invest in SPEE3D to help expand its global operations in delivering metal 3D printers and integrated systems using patented Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing (CSAM) technology. This technology enables the rapid production of mechanical parts for military and industrial applications in the most demanding environments.
According to SPEE3D, their 3D printers are the only ones used in the field, in combat zones. They are utilized by the Australian Army and its allies. SPEE3D currently supports the Australian Department of Defence, the US Department of Defense, the UK Ministry of Defence, the Japanese Ministry of Defense, and the Ukrainian Army. Several units were recently deployed as part of the world's largest naval exercise, Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), at the Marine Corps Air Station in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
