Prodways has also set out to conquer the dental aligner industry!

Atomic Layer of the Day:
Barely a week ago, I was reporting on VOXELTEK and Smilemaker – a desktop-grade system for the automated production of clear aligners, and today I can return with yet another innovation in this field.
It seems the aligner market is truly massive, given how many companies are developing advanced solutions for their production.
Prodways Machines has announced the launch of its new automated system, the DENTAL PRO Automated Line. This advanced solution is designed for dental laboratories and aligner manufacturers, combining high-precision 3D printing with full automation of production processes. With this system, Prodways promises to significantly boost production efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize the need for manual intervention.
The system is based on Prodways' flagship MOVINGLight technology, which ensures fast and precise 3D printing with a resolution of 42 μm per pixel. It utilizes a moving DLP projector—unlike traditional systems that expose the entire resin surface with a single image, MOVINGLight shifts a high-resolution image across the entire build platform.
The system automatically loads and unloads print platforms, eliminating downtime and enabling continuous production. Additionally, it features automated print job management and task queuing.
The build platform measures 300 x 445 mm, allowing for the simultaneous production of multiple dental models—for example, 72 denture bases or 55 aligner models on a single platform.
It also enables real-time production tracking and remote management of the printing process.
Although fundamentally different from VOXELTEK’s Smilemaker, the DENTAL PRO Automated Line by Prodways aligns with the ongoing trend of innovation in the aligner sector and the growing automation of the dental industry.

News & Gossip:
Eplus3D showcased its copper 3D printing capabilities at TCT Asia 2025, overcoming challenges like low laser absorption and high reflectivity. Through process optimizations, the company claims that it achieved 99.97% density in copper-chromium-zirconium parts without hardware upgrades. Eplus3D also highlighted its large-format EP-M2050 and EP-M1550 systems.
Velo3D has launched a specialized AM services division called Rapid Production Solutions (RPS). Designed for industries like aerospace and energy, RPS leverages Velo3D’s Sapphire XC printers. This positions Velo3D as both a hardware provider and a contract manufacturer. Company expects that AM services will account for up to 40% of their revenues.
And finally, probably the news of the day—Formlabs announced that next Monday (March 24) they will announce something! Everything indicates that it will be a new 3D printer, but we don't know which technology it will use. Could it be an SLS-based Formlabs version of Micromics? Or something completely different? We'll find out in 5 days...
